A strong car collection is not simply about owning more vehicles. It is about having enough variety to approach different roads, events, and driving situations from different angles. With Forza Horizon 6 Credits available for cars and upgrades, building a garage around distinct roles can make every new addition feel more meaningful.
Forza Horizon 6 launched with more than 550 cars, and its collection system continues to expand through seasonal updates and additional content. The game also provides several ways to discover and obtain vehicles, including the Autoshow, Festival Playlist rewards, Aftermarket Cars, and other collection methods.
One useful approach is to separate cars by driving environment. A lightweight road car can be prepared for narrow mountain routes, while a more powerful machine can focus on fast sections and longer straights. An off-road build can then handle terrain where maintaining stability matters more than achieving maximum cornering speed.
The difference between these builds does not always come from the engine. Suspension settings, tire selection, gearing, drivetrain behavior, and aerodynamic balance can completely change the way a car responds. Two vehicles with similar performance ratings can therefore feel very different once they are tuned for different purposes.
Braking is especially important when creating specialized road builds. A car with enormous acceleration can still struggle if it becomes unstable during heavy braking. Finding a setup that allows the vehicle to slow down while remaining predictable gives the driver more freedom to choose later braking points without sacrificing control.
Gear ratios can then be adjusted around the routes where the car will spend most of its time. Shorter gearing can make repeated low-speed acceleration more responsive, while longer ratios can help a car stay composed through extended high-speed sections. Testing several configurations on the same road often reveals more than simply comparing the numbers in the tuning menu.
Drivetrain choice creates another major distinction. AWD can provide strong traction when accelerating out of slow corners, RWD allows more direct control over rear-wheel rotation, and FWD creates a different balance between steering and acceleration. Keeping all three types represented in a garage can make familiar events feel considerably less repetitive.
FH6 also gives cars a strong visual identity. Updated Forza Aero, additional rims, separate front and rear wheel options, body kits for selected vehicles, and window livery support allow a build to look as specialized as it drives.
A visual theme can also make a large collection easier to organize. Track-focused cars might use restrained competition-inspired designs, while drift builds can have more aggressive liveries. Off-road vehicles can emphasize rugged styling, and classic cars can remain closer to their original appearance.
The current British Automotive series provides another reason to keep different types of cars ready. The September 2026 update introduced permanent Drift Attack at Shimanoyama, along with a British Automotive Takeover and three new Festival Playlist cars. The update shows how a new activity can immediately create demand for different types of specialized builds.
Drift Attack is particularly different from conventional racing because the objective is to accumulate drift points over a lap. Clipping Zones reward accurate positioning, so simply producing a large angle is not enough. A useful drift car needs predictable throttle response and enough control to keep the slide inside the scoring areas.
That makes a dedicated drift project worthwhile even if the same vehicle is not ideal for circuit racing. A setup that would be considered excessive for a normal road race can become useful when the objective changes from preserving grip to managing it.
The same principle applies to drag-oriented builds. Straight-line events place greater emphasis on launch behavior, gearing, traction, and acceleration. Keeping one car specifically prepared for this environment means there is no need to compromise a balanced road racer simply to improve its performance over a short distance.
Time Attack offers another specialized role. Repeated laps make it easier to evaluate small changes in braking, gearing, suspension, and tire behavior. Instead of judging a tune after a single run, drivers can compare several attempts and determine whether a modification actually improves consistency.
FH6's progression system also supports multiple ways of playing. Wristbands, Stamps, the Collection Journal, and Horizon Play progression operate alongside regular player levels, allowing racing, exploration, collecting, and multiplayer activities to contribute to the overall experience.
A garage built around these different activities feels more useful because every car has somewhere to go. One vehicle might be taken into a Time Attack session, another into Drift Attack, another onto an off-road route, and another simply used for exploring Japan with a convoy.
When expanding that collection, buy FH6 Accounts can provide another starting point for exploring a broader garage setup. The important part is turning the available cars into distinct projects, so each vehicle offers a different combination of handling, tuning, customization, and driving style.
